The much awaited 3D support for Blu-Ray movies is finally available as the newest firmware 3.50 is now ready for download via the System Update on the PlayStation 3.
There are more things that are included in the new firmware update. This includes the following:
- Facebook Integration: Developers will be able to create PS3 games that have more interaction with Facebook. Once compatible PS3 titles are available, PS3 users can choose to access public information on Facebook – including user name, profile, uploaded photos and friends list – to enhance their gameplay experience.
- Grief Reporting Function: Users can send claim reports directly from the XMB for any inappropriate messages they receive from other PlayStation Network users. This feature is accessible from the option menu of the messages list in the FRIENDS category.
- 3D Blu-Ray support for 3D movie playback on every PlayStation 3 ever made.
- PlayStation Move controller can be used as the cursor for the web browser.
- You can now report those annoying users who send you spam through your ‘friends’ list.
- a 3D ‘notice’ screen for games that are compatible with your 3DTV.
- Improve access and function with the social network Facebook.
- Improved descriptions of the 14 most common PS3 errors.
- Updated interface for the PlayStation Plus section of the PS Store.
- Qriocity Icon will appear on the music section of the PS Store, but won’t be available (may be EU only)
